The Maine CAH Patient Safety Collaborative will lead a general session at the National Rural Health Association Quality and Clinical Conference on Friday, July 23rd in Portland.  The Quality and Clinical Conference is an interactive conference for quality improvement coordinators, performance improvement coordinators, rural clinicians, quality improvement organizations, and nurses practicing on the front lines of rural health care.  The session will cover the successful work of the 14 Critical Access Hospitals on a two-year medication safety initiative funded by the Maine Health Access Foundation. Individual project strategies and results to be shared include medication reconciliation, pharmacist interventions, technology implementation and staff and patient education.  In addition to the General Session, Collaborative member Bobbi Cribby of Bridgton Hospital will lead a breakout session on their successful medication reconciliation improvement project on Thursday, July 22nd.  Conference information and registration is available here.
